Chamber Days in Austin Brings East Texas Voice to the State Capitol
(Nacogdoches, Texas - Feb. 6, 2026) - The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce and the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce will travel to Austin for Chamber Days in Austin, joining together to advocate for issues important to the businesses, communities and future growth of the East Texas region.
"Chamber Days in Austin provides an opportunity for local business leaders and our stakeholders to meet directly with state leadership and discuss regional priorities," said Kelly Augustine, president/CEO. "By traveling together, even in the off-session years, the two Chambers aim to present a unified East Texas voice on topics including workforce development, infrastructure, water resources and healthcare."
The day’s schedule includes meetings with key state officials and agency leaders at the Texas State Capitol:
Schedule of Events
12:30 p.m. – Group photo on the East Side steps of the Capitol, followed by a group walk to meetings
All meetings will take place in Committee Room E2.012
1:00 p.m. – Lisa Craven, Deputy Comptroller;
1:30 p.m. – Victoria Grady, Health & Human Services Commissioner;
2:30 p.m. – Brady Franks, Texas Water Development Board;
3:00 p.m. – Randy Lewis, Ranger, Texas Department of Public Safety.
5:30 - 7:30 p.m. - Capitol Day Reception at the Texas Bankers Association Building, 203 W. 10th St., Austin, TX 78701.
