Lane closures planned for State Loop (SL) 224 this week
Nacogdoches – Lane closures on SL 224 in Nacogdoches will occur this week while bridge beams are installed. Westbound traffic will be detoured through the signal at the SL 224/Business 59 intersection between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23 and between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24. Drivers should use caution and expect delays if traveling through the area. Remember to slow down and stay alert for workers and equipment moving around the work zone.

Turn-lane project on US 59 begins Sept. 14 September 11, 2026 NACOGDOCHES COUNTY – Work to improve safety conditions along a 6.6-mile stretch of US 59 south of Nacogdoches is expected to get underway next week. Work will occur between the Nacogdoches city limits and the Angelina River. On the northbound side of the road, turn lanes will be extended at County Road (CR) 620, Farm-to-Market Road (FM) 2782, and Old Ferry Road. The turn lane at CR 525 on the southbound side will also be extended.
