Capitol Conversation Comes to Nacogdoches

Lone Star Legislative Summit Luncheon features voices from Washington
(NACOGDOCHES, TX - Feb. 26, 2026) — The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce announces the Lone Star Legislative Summit presented by Citizens 1st Bank, slated for April 9 – 10 and will bring state and federal policymakers together for meaningful dialogue on the issues shaping Texas’ future.

Held in Nacogdoches, the “oldest town in Texas,” LSLS provides a rare opportunity for regional leaders to engage directly with lawmakers and policy influencers. LSLS is open to the public and creates a stage for productive conversations. Business leaders, elected officials and community members from the region and across the state are encouraged to attend and participate in this gathering.

A highlight of the event will be the Legislative Luncheon, featuring special remarks from U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions, Texas’ 17th district, and U.S. Congressman Nathaniel Moran, Texas’ 1st district. Each will provide insights on federal priorities and how national policy intersects with the needs of East Texas communities and industries.

“The Lone Star Legislative Summit is an opportunity to join my colleague Congressman Moran and myself as we talk about issues not only in Washington D.C., but how they affect deep East Texas,” Congressman Sessions said. “I hope to see you there.”

The Summit will feature panel discussions that are free to attend:

    · “The Next Drop: Planning for Texas’ Water Future.” Water management policy critical to Texas growth.

    · “Rooted in Education. Rising in Workforce.” Training and funding strategies supporting East Texas industries.

    · “Media Madness.” Journalists’ perspectives on Texas politics as we prepare for the state’s 90th legislative session.
