Turn-lane project on US 59 begins Sept. 14

Turn-lane project on US 59 begins Sept. 14 September 11, 2026 NACOGDOCHES COUNTY – Work to improve safety conditions along a 6.6-mile stretch of US 59 south of Nacogdoches is expected to get underway next week. Work will occur between the Nacogdoches city limits and the Angelina River. On the northbound side of the road, turn lanes will be extended at County Road (CR) 620, Farm-to-Market Road (FM) 2782, and Old Ferry Road. The turn lane at CR 525 on the southbound side will also be extended.

Good afternoon, Nothing ruins the beautiful East Texas scenery like litter. While our crews and contractors work to keep roads clean, we can’t do it alone. Please consider participating in TxDOT’s Adopt-a-Highway Program. The district currently has 134 two-mile road segments available for adoption.
