Water resources discussed at Chamber meeting

Texas Water Development Board Director Ashley Morgan speaks at Fourth Friday Luncheon

The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to attend its Fourth Friday Luncheon on Friday, Oct. 23, from noon to 1 p.m. at The Fredonia Hotel & Convention Center. The luncheon serves as The Chamber’s monthly membership meeting featuring guest speaker Texas Water Development Board Director Ashley Morgan (pictured).

Morgan will provide an overview of key Texas Water Development Board duties as the state prepares for the upcoming legislative session.

“We are honored to welcome one of the three appointed directors of the Texas Water Development Board to Nacogdoches,” said Chamber Vice Chair Public Policy Damon Ruckel. “Having direct access to state leadership on an issue as important as water is an incredible opportunity for our members. We plan to gain more insight into the state water planning process to learn how we can better protect and wisely utilize East Texas water resources while supporting the needs of our growing communities and economy.”

The Texas Water Development Board is the state agency responsible for leading Texas' water planning, data collection and water infrastructure financing efforts. The agency is charged with developing and implementing policies that lead the state's efforts in ensuring a secure water future for Texas.

All may attend The Chamber’s Fourth Friday Luncheon. Advance registration is required. The cost to attend including the meal is $30 for Chamber members and $35 for prospective members and non-members. To register, visit The Chamber’s online events calendar at www.nacogdoches.org or call (936) 560-5533.
