Nacogdoches County Chamber announces annual award recipients

July 31, 2026, Nacogdoches, Texas – The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce announces the recipients of its annual Gary Justice Business Excellence Awards, Citizen of the Year, Non-Profit of the Year and C. Wayne Mitchell Business Advocacy Award to be recognized during the 104th Annual Meeting & Membership Banquet presented by The Fredonia Hotel & Convention Center on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The event will begin with a 6 p.m. reception, followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Chamber members, business leaders, elected officials and community supporters will celebrate the accomplishments of local businesses and individuals who contribute to the continued success and growth of Nacogdoches County. Also, during the business meeting, the 2026-2027 Nacogdoches County Chamber board of directors and the executive committee will be inducted. 

"This annual celebration provides an opportunity to recognize the people and organizations that make our community stronger," said event Chairwoman Betty Shinn. "Their innovation, leadership, service and commitment help drive economic development and enhance the quality of life throughout Nacogdoches County."
