2026 Congressional Veteran Commendation Nominations Open
2026 Congressional Veteran Commendation Nominations are now open
Submit your nomination by Friday, August 14, 2026
The Congressional Veteran Commendation (CVC) is an award of distinction for veterans who not only served honorably during active duty, but they continue to serve their community volunteering to make a positive impact in the lives of others and the communities they live in.
While we are grateful for all veterans who have served on our behalf, there are those that particularly stand out as worthy of a special honor and recognition by their country, whose story will be entered into the Congressional Record for future generations to know and appreciate.
All nominations will be reviewed by a Congressional Veteran Commendation Board, comprised of former CVC recipients.
To uphold the high honor of being presented with the Congressional Veteran Commendation Award, the number of recipients will be limited.
Eligibility Requirements:
• The Veteran must currently reside in the 17th Congressional District of Texas. To verify, please visit www.house.gov and enter the veteran’s ZIP code in the box entitled “Find Your Representative.”
• Veteran was active duty in the United States Armed Forces or was a reservist called to active duty.
• Veteran retired from the United States Armed Forces or was honorably discharged.
