Champions for business recognized on Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day

The power behind progress.
National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day is Oct. 21

National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day is more than a celebration of an organization. It is a celebration of the people, partnerships and businesses that keep our communities moving forward.

At its heart, a Chamber of Commerce exists to champion business success because strong businesses create strong communities. When businesses thrive, they create jobs, support local nonprofits, invest in schools, generate tax revenue for infrastructure and provide the goods and services that improve our quality of life. The day is an opportunity to recognize that connection and the collective impact of a thriving business community.

It is also a moment to honor the volunteers, board members, committee members, and business leaders who give their time and expertise to make their communities better. Their leadership helps attract investment, advocate for economic growth, develop future leaders and create opportunities for businesses of every size to succeed.

"Most importantly, Support Your Local Chamber Day reminds us that progress does not happen by accident," said Nacogdoches County Chamber President/CEO Kelly Augustine. "It happens when people come together around a shared vision for their community. Chambers serve as that gathering place, bringing together entrepreneurs, employers, educators, elected officials and citizens to build a stronger future.

In short: National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day celebrates the idea that when business succeeds, communities prosper. It's a day to recognize the organizations and individuals who work every day to make that success possible.
