Hours: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Overtime: Required as needed
Position Summary
The Pellet Mill Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the pellet mill during the evening shift. This position carries primary responsibility for starting, operating, adjusting, and shutting down the pellet mill to ensure consistent production, product quality, and equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down the pellet mill safely
- Adjust rollers, die, and machine settings to maintain proper pellet quality and production efficiency
- Monitor equipment performance and make necessary operational adjustments during production
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues; communicate mechanical or process concerns to maintenance or management
- Maintain consistent production rates while meeting quality standards
- Perform routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance tasks
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Complete production and operational logs as required
- Work overtime as needed to meet production demands
Qualifications & Experience
- Prior experience operating manufacturing or industrial equipment required
- Pellet mill experience preferred, but not required (training provided for the right candidate)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn machine adjustments
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during evening shift
- Proven, stable work history with consistent employment
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and work in an industrial environment
