Vegetable Gardening 101 for the Whole Family
SFA Gardens will host a beginning gardening class for families on Saturday, February 8 from 9 a.m. until noon. SFA Gardens? research associates, Dawn Stover and Greg Grant will meet with parents to discuss site selection, soil preparation and amendments,compost, raised bed and container options, planting schedules and best vegetable varieties for East Texas. Activities for children (children ages 4 and above) taught by SFA Nacogdoches Naturally staff include worms/compost, plant parts, and seeds using hands-on activities,games,garden art crafts, vegie tasting party. Families will leave with a seed starter.

Fees/Admission
Cost for the event, which includes all supplies, will be $20 for SFA Garden members, $25 for non-members, and $40 for family groups. Space in the workshop will be limited so pre-registration is required by February 6, 2014.
