A dozen favorite Lamp-Lite comedians team to take us to Sweetgum, Texas. Lori Golden, Kim Cross and Melissa DeVine play the wild Verdeen cousins who are a constant embarrassment to their self-righteous Aunt LaMerle (Jody Ryan). On the hottest day in July and smack dab in the middle of the tornado season, it’s time for the cousins to host a family reunion! A one-eyed suitor (Bill Small), a court-appointed psychologist (Pat Harris), a “hot-to trot” uncle (Lee Broadwater), a down-home TV hostess (Kelly Daniel), and on-the-prowl, priss-pot neighbor (Tina Oswald) add to the fun. Lisa Norman plays Mama Doll and Gerry Peacock plays the sheriff. The fast paced romp is the latest play by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, the trio that penned Dearly Beloved, Christmas Belles, and Southern Hospitality.
