SFA Jazz Doctors and Swingin’ Aces

The Jazz Doctors of Stephen F. Austin State University will join The Swingin’ Aces jazz band for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in Cole Concert Hall, Wright Music Building, on the SFA campus. The concert will open with The Swingin’ Aces, directed by Jake Walburn, performing some jazz standards from the Count Basie Library, such as “April in Paris” and “88 Basie Street.” The Jazz Doctors will perform “Ymir’s Bones” by Ben Morris, assistant professor of composition at SFA. The concert also features numerous jazz standards. Concert tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $3 for students and youth.
