Save Jane - a part of a child abuse awareness event.
It would mean a lot to us here at Harold's House to have your voice at this event.
Save Jane first launched two years ago in Dallas with the goal of spreading awareness about the crisis of child abuse. At our 1st annual Save Jane event, our goal is to spread awareness about this critical issue in Nacogdoches County and about Harold's House' expert response, as well as to encourage our community to join in our efforts.
On April 6th beginning at 10am we will be downtown behind the visitors center, reading out loud each and every name and age of a child reported as abused last year. This is 834 children, but as you know, to protect their identity and integrity of the cases, we cannot reveal the child's real name. Instead, we will substitute "Jane Doe" and "John Doe" for all 834 names. We want to remind our community that these are real children and stories behind each name and that Harold's House stands up and fights for them. We are asking those that represent our community to join us in reading these names.
If you are able to participate, please let us know and feel free to forward this email to anyone else that you think would be willing to participate in this awareness event.
