One of the most famous roadways in America, the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail, will be the site of a 200 mile-long “Sale on the Trail” Friday and Saturday, July 31-August 1, 2020. The El Camino Real, which means the “King’s Highway” in Spanish, is the oldest road in Texas. The “Sale on the Trail” event, planned and promoted by the El Camino Real Caddo Region Trail Partners, which includes Chambers of Commerce and Tourism Bureaus along the route, is designed to promote tourism and acquaint participants with the beautiful highway so important to early history in Louisiana and Texas. We are enlisting all Nacogdoches businesses, churches, and organizations to host their “own kind of” antique, junking, or garage sale shopping experience. Though we are not limiting the locations of your sale, it might be best to join forces with others and centralize your event space to draw the largest crowds. Locations will be uploaded onto a Sale on the Trail Google Map. Having your full description of what shoppers can expect to find will be crucial. Shoppers can be enticed by pictures and through your words. Please complete the description box on the entry form and return by email with an attached picture to Ashley@visitnacogdoches.org. This is our first year opening it up to all in an effort of celebrate Nacogdoches. The event provides a wonderful weekend of touring, shopping, and summer fun. The CVB will be promoting our unique lodging locations, our opened attractions and our favorite local eateries. Please help us celebrate responsibly in Nacogdoches for our local businesses who remain opened. Safe travels!
