LUFKIN, TX. The Angelina Arts Alliance (AAA) is proud to present the world-famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 2 PM at the Temple Theater. The hit show is presented as part of AAA’s annual Discovery Series - where learning and fun go hand-in-hand. Starring Gregory Popovich, the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is the most beloved family show in the world, featuring European-style circus extravaganza including physical comedy, juggling, acrobats from the Moscow Circus, highly intelligent dogs and even house cats! All of the pets are rescued animals and are trained using positive reinforcement techniques which enhances their natural abilities. As a fifth generation circus performer, Gregory Popovich learned early how to develop strong bonds with the animals he rescues from shelters all over the country. He is a gold medal winner in Paris, France and a special award winner in Monte Carlo. Popovich and his pets were finalists on "America's Got Talent", were guests on TV shows with Jay Leno, David Letterman, Craig Ferguson, was featured on Animal Planet and much more. Do not miss this opportunity to see this unique family-friendly show featuring this legendary circus entertainer and his furry friends. As part of this event, the Angelina Arts Alliance is proud to partner with three local animal charities in support of their missions. The AAA is promoting an animal food drive and adoption drive that will take place at the Temple Theater prior to and after the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater performance. The charities participating are the Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter, Wendy’s Misfits and the Winne Berrie Humane Society. “These organizations are dedicated to the safety and welfare of homeless dogs and cats in Angelina County and beyond,” states Angelina Arts Alliance Executive Director Jennifer Allen. She continues, “We are proud promote their work in conjunction with this hilarious, familyfriend show that is all about our love for animals. We hope everyone will come see this wonderful show, bring a donation of food, adopt a pet and support three amazing charities that do such important work in our community. I can’t think of a better way to start the New Year!” All patrons are encouraged to bring at least one bag of dry dog or cat food (3lbs or more) to support the animals served by these local animal charities. Patrons who donate dog or cat food will receive one (1) complimentary ticket to the next Discovery Series performance at the Temple Theater (The Underwater Bubble Show on March 29, 2020). All food collected that day will be distributed evenly between the charities participating.
