The Passion for Purple Luncheon is the Janelle Grum Family Crisis Center of East Texas’s signature annual event, bringing our community together to raise awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault while supporting survivors across East Texas. This year, we are honored to welcome Melissa Dohme-Hill as our keynote speaker. A survivor of a near-fatal domestic violence attack, Melissa has transformed her experience into a powerful message of resilience, healing, hope, and life after trauma. Today, she advocates for victims and survivors and inspires audiences across the country through her story and work. Your ticket helps make the Family Crisis Center’s life-saving services possible, including our 24/7 crisis hotline, emergency shelter, outreach services, transitional housing, personal, legal and medical advocacy, counseling, public education and awareness, and Battering Intervention and Prevention Program. Together, we walk alongside survivors and their children through some of the hardest moments of their lives and help them find safety, healing, and a path forward.
