The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House will host an opening reception for the ImageMakers Photography exhibition from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6.
The show, sponsored by the Nacogdoches Photography Association and the Nacogdoches Boys and Girls Club, will be on display in the upstairs Reception Gallery and will feature the works of nine children between the ages of 9 and 12. The regular meeting of the NPA will be held immediately following the reception, and the program will consist of an awards ceremony and the presentation of the photographers.
ImageMakers is a national program sponsored by the Boys and Girls Clubs of America to encourage members to learn and practice various photography methods. The ultimate purpose is to provide children the opportunity to express themselves creatively, build confidence and learn new skills. Winners in various categories are advanced to competitions at the regional and national level. This particular exhibit was organized by the NPA and made possible by the generous donation of cameras by the local community.
The reception is free to the public. The ImageMakers Exhibition will be on display through June 14.
