“A Down Home Christmas” Cooking Show
Want to learn more about entertaining for the holidays? Then join us for “A Down Home Christmas” sponsored by Kroger on Thursday, December 5. Guests will learn how to effectively and beautifully execute cooking, baking, and entertaining for the holidays with help from local chefs Shelley Brophy and Cindy Metteauer.
Metteauer is the owner of GCS Cakes where she creates art with her custom cakes, cupcakes, cookies and more. Brophy owns Shelley’s Bakery & Café where she cooks up specialty soups, salads, sandwiches and quiches as well as tasty desserts. Both ladies truly know the meaning of “the way to the heart is through the stomach.”
Alongside wonderful cooking demonstrations, attendees will have the opportunity to view many unique and budget friendly ways to decorate for all of your holiday events. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages are included with ticket price and raffles will take place throughout the show.
The event will be held at the Nacogdoches County Annex, 203 West Main Street. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the show starting at 6 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $12 ($15 at the door) and are available at the Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau, 200 East Main, and at Nacogdoches Kroger stores.
