Main Street managers, volunteers and advisory board members from across the great state of Texas will transcend on downtown Nacogdoches to participate in the Texas Main Street 2015 Professional Development conference Feb. 10-13.
Currently there are 92 registered attendees. During this four-day experience, both new managers and seasoned veterans are invited to review the National Trust Main Street Center four-point approach which includes organization, design, economic restructuring and promotion. However, the program also goes beyond the basics to instruct Main Street managers on improving their communities and business practices. The Texas Main Street Program (TMSP) operates through the Texas Historical Commission, which strives to showcase real places with real stories in an effort to preserve Texas history and stimulate the state economy.
The TMSP has chosen "DIY - Do It Yourself Main Street" as the theme for the 2015 event. The Nacogdoches Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of Nacogdoches Main Street program submitted a bid to host the conference in 2014.
