Nacogdoches Film Festival
The seventh annual Nacogdoches Film Festival will be held on February 22-24, 2018 at the historic Fredonia Hotel in Nacogdoches, Texas.
VIP All-Access Passes are available for purchase beginning September 1, 2017 and enable the bearer to have access to all events associated with the 2018 Nacogdoches Film Festival.
The following is the schedule of events for the 2018 Nacogdoches Film Festival as of today. Please note that the appearance of certain industry guests is subject to change should unforeseen circumstances dictate.
Following the showing of each film, there will be a short question and answer period feature an individual who participated in the making of that particular film.
Thursday, February 22, 2018
- FILM — Winner of 2018 Feature Film Competition (to be announced) — (Fredonia Hotel/Banita Room) — 6:00 p.m.
- FILM — Sins of the Fathers — the 2016 SFA summer feature film, written and directed by Ethan Cartwright — (Fredonia Hotel/Banita Room) — 8:00 p.m.
Friday, February 23, 2018
- Short Film showings — the very best of the submissions in the 2018 Short Film Competition (Cole Art Center) — 12:00 p.m.
- Industry Panel Sessions — (Fredonia Hotel/Rusk Room) — 2:00 p.m.
- VIP RECEPTION (VIP All-Access Pass required) — 5:00 p.m. (Nacogdoches Convention & Visitor's Bureau) — 5pm
- FILM — One Month Out, a brand new movie not yet out for distribution, it was produced & directed by John Schneider and stars Ruth Buzzi, both of whom will be in attendance — 7:00 p.m. (Fredonia Hotel/Banita Room)
- FILM — Cut Shoot Kill, a newly released (Aug 2017) horror film directed by Michael Walker, with music by Christopher North, who will be in attendance — 9:00 p.m. (Fredonia Hotel/Banita Room)
- Informal After Party (cash bar) — 11:00 p.m. (Fredonia Hotel/Nine Flags Bar)

- High School Short Film showings — the very best of the submissions in the 2018 High School Short Film Competition — 10:15 a.m. (Cole Art Center)
- Tour of SFA Film Program facilities — 12:00 p.m. (SFASU Film House)
- Short Film showings — the very best of the submissions in the 2018 Short Film Competition — 12:00 p.m. (Cole Art Center)
- Industry Panel Sessions — 1:45 p.m. (Fredonia Hotel/Rusk Room)
- Arscott Interview Series (informal interview of award winning director Steve Rash, in a format similar to James Lipton's iconic "Inside the Actor's Studio"). Longtime Hollywood actor, SFA graduate and current SFA faculty member Brad Maule will conduct the interview — 4:00 p.m. (Fredonia Hotel/Banita Room)
- FILM —The Buddy Holly Story, the first feature length film directed by Steve Rash during his long and successful Hollywood career, which earned three Academy Award nominations — 7:00 p.m. (Fredonia Hotel/Banita Room)
