SFA Gardens to host Little Princess Tea Party NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Princesses from across East Texas are invited to don their best ball gown and sip tea with friends during the SFA Gardens' Little Princess Tea Party slated for April 26 at the Stephen F. Austin State University Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St. Conservation is the theme for this year’s event, and two sessions will be offered — the first at 10 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m. "The Pineywoods Native Plant Center creates a magical setting for young princesses and fairies to celebrate the natural beauty of East Texas,” said Kay Jenkins, SFA Gardens educational programs coordinator. Princess will enjoy songs, stories and crafts while making lasting memories. Teatime snacks and drinks will be provided. Live butterflies will be featured to help highlight the importance of conserving native habitats. The event is recommended for children 3 to 10 years of age who are accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased online from the SFA Gardens webpage sfasu.edu/sfagardens. Fifty tickets are available for each of the two tea party sessions. Tickets are $50 per person and typically sell out. Proceeds from the event help support environmental education programs at SFA Gardens.
