This heartwarming comedy by Ernest Thompson centers on aging couple Ethel and Norman Thayer (played by Jody Ryan and Bill Small), who spend each summer at their home on a lake called Golden Pond. During the year the story takes place, they are visited by daughter, Chelsea (played by Jessie Licht), and her fiancé, Bill Ray (played by Jon Gauntt), and his son, Billy Ray Jr. (played by Jack "Ty" Norman). Scott Parrish plays Chelsea's old boyfriend. The play explores the often-turbulent relationship the young woman shared with her father growing up, and the difficulties faced by a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage. The 1981 movie starred Henry Fonda, Katharine Hepburn and Jane Fonda and earned Fonda his only Oscar for Best Actor.
