Keep Nac Beautiful Children’s Play
Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful will be debuting an original presentation at the Nacogdoches Public Library, November 9, at 2:30 pm. Entitled“Trash Talk” this humorous, live performance focuses on the problem of litter in the environment, particularly plastics and Styrofoam, their repurposing, and the importance of recyclable products.The story line includes four characters: Larry Litterbug played by Richard Malloy, Sally Squirrel and “Granny,” both played by Roz Couch, and Scientific Susie, played by Susie Lower, author of the play and a member of the Board of Directors of KNB. Enhanced by a theme song and hip-hop lyrics, the play seeks to engage the audience with humor,music, and rhythm.The public is invited, with a special invitation to all of those interested in reducing waste in the environment through interactive education. Repurposing activities will follow the presentation with special recognition for the most successful creations. F
This production will be available to the public schools as an assembly presentation,targeting the elementary school level. The purpose of this dramatic presentation is to get the attention of the upcoming generation about the harm litter does to the environment and the urgent need to recycle and repurpose plastics. It will include suggested follow-up activities to be incorporated into classroom science lessons and at home.
