John Cobb?s "Vision & Substance" art exhibit to open

An opening reception for the exhibition "Vision & Substance: The Art of John Cobb: will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.

The artist will discuss his work at 5 p.m. For more than 30 years, Austin-based artist Cobb has been working on a freestanding chapel filled with egg tempera and gold leaf paintings depicting Biblical scenes and characters of modern-day settings. This exhibition is part of the 2014-2015 Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts' University Series and is presented by the SFA School of Art.
