HD-11 "For The Future" Town Hall on Public Education

The “For the Future” HD-11 Town Hall on Public Education, is part of a series of over 50 public education candidate events that the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation will be hosting across the state through the 2020 elections. This town hall will be specifically focused on Representative Clardy's’ district.

These Town Halls will serve two primary purposes. First, they will continue to build our relationships with elected officials and position us to work together positively in the 87th session.

Second, they will provide opportunities for legislators to hear directly from constituents and local education leaders about the issues that matter most to them, either during the event or as legislators prepare for the event. As always, events are also a good opportunity for us to build andThe date of this Town Hall is Monday, December 7 , 2020 from 11:00 AM – 12:00PM. This will be a Hybrid event with a pre-selected guest list. General Audience members and Raise Your Hand Texas Supporters may join us via Facebook Live.

The events moderator will be: Dr. Judy Abbott, Dean of the James I. Perkins College of Education at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Like all For the Future events, this will be an issue-focused conversation including questions on statewide and local topics as we prepare for the 87th Legislative Session in January of 2021. 

These Town Halls will focus on 3 key topics in each event: COVID response, school finance, and assessment/accountability. Overall, we want legislators to get beyond statewide talking points and get to know what’s happening inside their own districts a little better. This Town Hall will be focused around public education, exclusively. The questions and topics will continue to focus exclusively on public education.
