ANNOUNCEMENTS:

2. Come out and meet your local farmers and find out what they are growing: Monday, June 24 at 6 PM at the Judy McDonald Public Library
Things you might find this time of year: baked goods (cakes, mini cheesecakes, cookies, fried pies & pies), candles, canned goods (chow-chow, jams & jellies, marmalades, preserves, pickled vegetables, salsas & relishes), artisan Texas cheese, free-range eggs, freshly cut flowers, local raw honey, jewelry, plants (cacti, bedding plants, house plants, fruit trees, trees, whips & Valencia heirloom tomatoe plants), organic pork (pork chops, breakfast sausage and REAL bacon), soaps (lye and herbal), sugar cane syrup, tamales, vinegars, fruit wines and wood products.LOCAL PRODUCE: asparagus, green beans, fresh pinto beans, fresh frozen shelled beans (butter, Lima & pinto), beets, blackberries, broccoli, cabbage (green & red), cantaloupe, carrots, celery, chives, cilantro, fresh corn, cucumbers, eggplants, fennel, fresh garlic, greens (arugula, Swiss chard, collards, Italian dandelion, kale, red Russian kale, mustard, French sorrel, spinach & turnip), herbs (basil, dill, mint, oregano, rosemary, sage & thyme), kolhrabi, lettuce (butter-head, red leaf & Romaine), okra, onions (green, red & yellow), parsley, peaches, fresh frozen shelled peas (black eyed, Brown Crowder, Lady cream, purple hull & zipper cream), fresh unshelled peas (English, snow & sugar snap), shelled pecans, peppers (banana, Bell, banana, jalapeno), potatoes (red & white), radishes (globe & red), squash (yellow & zucchini), strawberries, tomatillos, tomatoes (cherry, green, red & sun-dried) and turnips.

The Nacogdoches Farmers’ Market, located at the “hitch lot” at the corner of West Main and Pearl Streets, is open from 8 a.m. until noon or later every Saturday morning. If the market parking lot is full, additional parking is available in the Nacogdoches County Courthouse Annex parking lot. Our Wednesday markets our back so you can shop the Farmer’s Market every Wednesday, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Please note that the Farmer’s Market is a “Smoke Free” facility for the health of our customers and vendors.
