January 6 is traditionally the day that Latin American children receive toys or treats left near their shoes as part of a celebration known as Día de Los Reyes. The Judy B. McDonald Public Library will be celebrating this cultural event with Hispanic-themed games, music and Rosca de Reyes (Latin American king cake) on Monday, January 6 at 6:00 p.m.
All children and their families are invited to attend. A donation of new children’s shoes, socks or leggings may also be brought. These will be given to children staying at the East Texas Family Crisis Center.
