The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce is ready to partner with the City of Nacogdoches in March with a celebration for the 20th anniversary of the City’s Main Street program.
On Friday, March 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. the Chamber will hold its first Member Mixer event, and the host is Main Street. Along with all Chamber members, the entire community is invited to the celebration, and Communications/Main Street Director Amy Mehaffey is planning an evening of enjoyment with a “Roaring 20s” theme and includes Main Street merchants.
"We are so excited to celebrate 20 years of being a part of the Main Street program," Mehaffey said. "In this time, countless projects, initiatives, and events have helped make Downtown Nacogdoches not only a place of great historical significance, but also a place of beauty and fun."
Chamber members and guests will meet at the Plaza Principal Stage (attached to the south side of the Charles Bright Visitors Center) around 5:30 p.m. for brief announcements.
"We would like to take a few short minutes to recognize our Chamber leaders and hear from our host," said Chamber President/CEO C. Wayne Mitchell. "This will be a great networking opportunity with us in one area before breaking up to stroll the brick streets. Plus the newest-to-the-Chamber members have been asked to display their products and services, so all can get to know them better."
Downtown merchants are staying open late for this occasion so all can take advantage of extended shopping hours and special deals.
Mehaffey hopes to see a great turnout at Chamber's first Member Mixer, because "the City of Nacogdoches Main Street is proud to be a partner in the Nacogdoches community. This mixer will allow us to get to know new Chamber of Commerce members and expose more people to all that Downtown Nacogdoches has to offer!"
There is no charge to attend and the event is open to the community. All businesses who have joined the Chamber from Jan. 1, 2017 to date may call the Chamber at 939-560-5533 to reserve display space.
