Battle of the Piney Woods luncheon
The Touchdown Club of Houston will present a Battle of the Piney Woods luncheon featuring SFA coach J.C. Harper and Sam Houston coach Willie Fritz. The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the JW Marriot, 5150 Westheimer, in the Galleria.
The speakers will promote the football game between the two rival schools, scheduled for 3 p.m. Nov. 2, at Reliant Stadium in Houston. Guest speakers also will include Nacogdoches mayor Dr. Roger Van Horn. Luncheon Masters of Ceremonies will be Channel 11 sports director Bob Allen, an SFA graduate, and Channel 2 sports director Randy McIlvoy, a Sam Houston graduate.
Tickets are $45 each and include lunch. Tables are $450 (regular table) $500 (bronze sponsorship), $1,000 (silver sponsorship), $1,500 (gold sponsorship) and $2,500 (platinum sponsorship). All tables have 10 seats. Each bronze, silver, gold and platinum sponsor will be recognized and listed in the event's program.
