Despite suffering catastrophic injuries and enduring an extraordinary medical journey, Melissa survived and went on to dedicate her life to raising awareness about domestic violence, trauma-informed care, and young adult relationship abuse prevention. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month—a time to stand with survivors, raise awareness about domestic violence, recognize the warning signs, and remind our communities that help and hope are available. ?? All proceeds from Passion for Purple directly support the Janelle Grum Family Crisis Center of East Texas’ 24/7 crisis hotline, emergency shelter, advocacy, counseling, and many other life-saving services for adult and child survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Join us this Domestic Violence Awareness Month as we come together to raise awareness, support survivors, and help create a safer East Texas. ??
