About Us

Insight Visual Language Services was founded out of a deep belief that everyone deserves clear, equal access to communication. Founder, Shannon Jacobs, started this agency with the goal of bridging the gap between Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and hearing individuals by providing professional American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services that people and organizations can depend on.

Through Shannon's work and experience in the Deaf community for the past 20 years, she saw firsthand how important qualified interpreters are in everyday settings—whether it’s a medical appointment, a workplace meeting, a classroom, or a community event. Those experiences inspired her to build Insight Visual Language Services as a resource for businesses, healthcare providers, schools, and organizations to ensure communication access for everyone they serve.

At Insight Visual Language Services, interpreting is about more than simply translating words. It’s about building understanding, respecting Deaf culture, and creating environments where people feel seen, heard, and included. Shannon takes pride in working with clients across East Texas to provide interpreting services that are professional, reliable, and deeply rooted in culture and connection.
