The Angelina College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) strengthens economic development across Deep East Texas by providing free, professional support to small businesses and pre-venture entrepreneurs. Services include one-on-one advising, business plan development, financial analysis, loan packaging, and market research.
The SBDC is the nation's largest small business development organization, operating under a nonprofit model as part of the national SBDC network, funded primarily by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the host institution, Angelina College.
SBDCs do not charge for advising services; they provide free consulting and low-cost training funded by federal, state, and local grants.
SBDC advisors offer in-person, live or pre-recorded webinars, workshops, and training on start-up basics, marketing, management, finance, and technology. Specialized programs assist with government contracting, international trade, and disaster recovery to keep businesses resilient during crises.
By guiding start-ups, supporting access to capital, and improving management skills, the SBDC promotes job growth, stronger local enterprises, and a diversified economy. Partnering with area chambers and economic development groups, the Angelina College SBDC serves as a vital economic catalyst for entrepreneurs throughout the Deep East Texas region.
