Austin State University's jazz bands\, the Swingin' Axes and the Swingin' Aces\, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday\, Oct. 10\, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.\n\n\n\nThe Swingin' Axes\, under the direction of Gary Wurtz\, will perform all nine selections from Count Basie's "Basie " Straight Ahead" album\, while the Swingin' Aces\, under the direction of Deb Scott\, will pay tribute to the late jazz composer/arranger Fred Sturm.\n\n\n\nTickets are $8 for adults\, $6 for seniors and $3 for students and youth.\n\n\n\nFor tickets or more information\, call the SFA Fine Arts Box Office at (936) 468-6407 or visit www.finearts.sfasu.edu.
