DESCRIPTION:SFA indoor plant sale is July 9\n\n\n\nSFA Gardens will host a houseplant and succulent summer sale on July 9 at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center greenhouse\, 2900 Raguet St.\n\n\n\nScheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.\, the sale of succulents\, cacti and various houseplants is much smaller than the semi-annual plant sales\, with a specific selection of plants intended for indoor or special care.\n\n\n \n\n\nLimited parking will be available at the Native Plant Center. Visitors are encouraged to arrive at or after 9 a.m. For more information\, call 936-468-4404 or email sfagardens@sfasu.edu.\n\n\n\nArea students earn rodeo scholarships\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nAdrian Lopez of Nacogdoches\, Charlisa Teagle of San Augustine and Shelby County residents Sarahi Flores and Carter Ramsey were among Area Go-Texan Scholarship recipients announced by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.\n\n\n\nCenter ISD students Lance Holloway and Wesley Wages received exhibitor scholarships\, and San Augustine graduate Casey Nance received a military scholarship.\n\n\n\nThe rodeo's 70 statewide 4-H scholarship recipients included Nacogdoches County resident Matthew Self.\n\n\n\nThe largest rodeo in Texas\, HL&R draws more than 2 million attendees each year. The 2023 Rodeo is scheduled for Feb. 28 March 19 at Houston's NRG Stadium. The 2023 World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest is scheduled Feb. 23 25.\n\n\n\nNISD summer meals continue\n\n\n \n\n\nMost of the summer feeding sites offered through the Nacogdoches ISD nutrition department will run through the end of July. The Boys and Girls Club\, 2712 Park St.\, will continue to serve meals until Aug. 5.\n\n\n\nNext week\, the NISD Central Kitchen\, 302 Hughes St.\, continues to serve lunch from 11 to noon\, and the University Church Gym\, 118 W. California\, serves lunch from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.\n\n\n\nNacogdoches High\, which has breakfast from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon\, will close Friday\, July\, 1 and reopen on Wednesday\, July 6.\n\n\n\nBrooks-Quinn-Jones Elementary\, 907 N. Sanders St.\, and Thomas J. Rusk Elementary\, 511 Mound St.\, closes Friday\, July 1 and will reopen for meals on July 11.\n\n\nSites at Fredonia Baptist Church and Sacred Heart Church have closed for the summer.
