DESCRIPTION:SFA Gardens Lecture Series to Feature "Growing Fruits and Nuts in the South: Tips for Success in Home Orchards." SFA Gardens will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. on July 9th in the Ina Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center\, 2900 Raguet Street\, Nacogdoches. Michael Polozola II\, will present "Growing Fruits and Nuts in the South: Tips for Success in Home Orchards." Polozola is an Assistant Professor and extension fruit and nut specialist with the LSU AgCenter\, based in Alexandria\, Louisiana. His work focuses on helping homeowners and growers successfully produce fruit and nut crops\, with an emphasis on low input systems and practical management strategies. He conducts applied research and leads educational programs across the state on crops including pecans\, blueberries\, blackberries\, strawberries\, and muscadines. The Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series is held the second Thursday of each month and includes a plant raffle after the program. The lecture is free and open to the public\, however donations to the lecture series fund are always appreciated. Parking is available at the PNPC\, 2900 Raguet St.\, or Raguet Elementary School\, 2708 Raguet St. For more information\, call (936) 468-4129 or email sfagardens@sfasu.edu.
