SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting for Nacogdoches ISD's Transportation Center
DESCRIPTION:All invited to join the Ribbon Cutting celebration for Nacogdoches I.S.D.'s Transportation Center.\n\n\n\nRenovation of NISD's Transportation Center was completed in August of 2020. The transportation center was the first major project completed that was funded by the bond proposal approved in 2018 by Nacogdoches ISD voters. The project also expanded the transportation facility\, providing more garage space where NISD staff conduct maintenance on school buses. A new fueling station was included as well as a bus wash.\n\n--\n\nNacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m.\, Thursday\, June 10\, for NISD's new Transportation Center at 3613 N.E. Stallings.\n\nThe renovation and expansion of the transportation center was the first of the major projects completed related to the 2018 bond approved by NISD voters.\n\nThe center went into use in August 2020\, but NISD delayed a grand opening because of the pandemic.\n\nThe project renovated the existing facility while new construction expanded the size of the garage area and meeting space. Six full-size buses can be inside the garage at one time with the doors closed leaving plenty of space leftover for transportation staff to move around while keeping tools and equipment nearby.\n\n"Because of the foresight of our community\, the successful bond election more than two years ago is reshaping Nacogdoches ISD\," said Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo. "And this transportation center is just the beginning."\n\nOther projects related to the 2018 bond ongoing in the district include\, construction of a new Emeline Carpenter Elementary School on the southeast loop near McMichael Middle School\; expansion of McMichael so all middle school students will attend one campus\; and construction of the Malcolm Rector Center for Advanced Careers and Innovation at Nacogdoches High School.\n\n\n\n\n\nThanks to our sponsors!\n\nAmbassador committee sponsored by Farmers Insurance Grace Handler Agency\n\nRed Ribbon provided by Nacogdoches Floral Company\n\nMedia sponsor is The Daily Sentinel\n\nPhoto matte sponsored by Spherion Staffing\n\n#networknac
