DESCRIPTION:Ribbon Cutting for Nacogdoches I.S.D. Malcolm Rector Center for Advanced Careers and Innovation \n\nNacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m.\, Tuesday\, April 12\, for NISD's Malcolm Rector Center for Advanced Careers and Innovation at Nacogdoches High School.\n\n\n\nThe grand opening of the facility will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. that day and will provide opportunities to tour the new building as well as the existing Career & Technical Education labs and classrooms that were renovated as part of the project.\n\n\n\nThe Malcolm Rector Center at the high school is one of the major components of the 2018 bond approved by NISD voters. The Center went into use in August of 2021\, and the renovation of existing CTE areas was completed last month. \n\n\n\n"We're grateful to our community for their overwhelming support of the bond election back in 2018\, and the Malcolm Rector Center represents another key component of that grand vision\," said NISD Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo. "Over the next few months\, even more new facilities will be coming online\, fulfilling the foresight of the community in reshaping Nacogdoches ISD."\n\n\n\nOther projects will soon be complete\, including the new Emeline Carpenter Elementary School on the southeast loop near McMichael Middle School. Students will begin classes at the new campus in August.
