SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting for Fredonia Early Childhood Center
DESCRIPTION:Nacogdoches ISD invites the community to a Ribbon Cutting for Fredonia Early Childhood Center\n\n(formerly Fredonia Elementary).\n\n\n\nNacogdoches ISD will celebrate the completion of another construction project funded by the 2018 bond project. A ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony is planned April 27 for Fredonia Early Childhood Center\, formerly Fredonia Elementary. Beginning in August\, the newly remodeled campus will be used for Pre-K students.\n\n\n\nThe ceremony on April 27 will begin at 3:30 p.m.\, and the ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m. Fredonia Early Childhood Center is located at 1326 S. Fredonia St. Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the ribbon cutting ceremony.\n\n\n\nTCMC Commercial LP was approved by NISD Board of Trustees in February 2022 for the $3.8 million renovation project. Work has remodeled classrooms and installed new flooring in the facility as well as other projects in the campus. \n\n\n\n"This is not the largest project that was part of the 2018 bond package\, but there's no way to overstate the importance of having all our Pre-K students located at one campus\," said Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo. "This provides us the opportunity now and for years to come to align instruction for our youngest students. This will prove invaluable for the district\, and we're grateful for the support we received from the community to make it possible."\n\n\n\nRenovation of the Fredonia campus for use as an early childhood center is part of the $77.9 million bond package approved by NISD voters in November of 2018. \n\n\n\nThe same bond proposal has funded construction of a new Emeline Carpenter Elementary\, the Malcolm Rector Center for Advanced Careers & Innovation at Nacogdoches High School\, expansion of McMichael Middle School and renovation and expansion of the district's transportation center along with other priority maintenance projects in the district. Work continues on renovation of the press box facility at Dragon Stadium\, which will be completed this fall.
