Austin State University\n\n\n\nAbout Shannon Conklin\n\nShannon currently serves as an executive leader over global accounts within a multibillion-dollar aviation firm. His role has him overseeing the corporate relationships with many of our nation's top air carriers\, as well as\, many of the top airports in the country.\n\n\n\nPrior to this role\, Shannon was a division president overseeing both domestic and international operations. Shannon has been in the commercial aviation space since 2001 when he co-founded an aviation staffing and security services company based in Austin\, Texas. Within a few years\, the company grew to over 3000+ employees in 40+ locations across the United States. Shannon oversaw operations and was responsible for several acquisitions that led the company to diversify from the aviation sector to hospitality and high-tech services. In 2010\, their aviation business was acquired and Shannon joined the new team to help continue the rapid growth in aviation services.\n\n\n\nPrior to venturing into the commercial aviation sector\, Shannon served with the Texas Dept. of Public Safety as a state trooper. In 1999\, Shannon was selected to join an elite team to protect presidential candidate Governor G.W. Bush as he embarked on a nationwide campaign. Serving on a protection detail for the future POTUS was an honor and one of the most memorable moments in his professional career. It was this mission that led Shannon and a couple of friends to form their own aviation company. By the mid 2000's\, Shannon was solely focused on growing the business.\n\n\n\nShannon maintains a "master peace officer" license in the State of Texas and continues to use his law enforcement background by volunteering in his community. Shannon believes we must use all the tools at our disposal to help develop our youth into happy and productive citizens.\n\n\n\nShannon is married to his wife\, Kristen\, of 12 years. They have one son and one daughter. Shannon attended the TX DPS Academy in Austin and Stephen F. Austin State University. He also has been a licensed pilot for more than 23 years. Shannon and his wife reside in Nacogdoches\, Texas.
