In 1990\, he moved to Lufkin/Nacogdoches\, TX and started working at KYKS (KICKS 105).\n\n \n\nIn the 30+ years that Danny has been in East Texas\, he has been on air at KJCS\, KYBI (formerly KUEZ)\, and for the past 2 decades he's been Brand Manager of KICKS 105 as well as host of the Merrell in the Morning Show. He also is the imaging voice for Townsquare Media's Classic Hits radio stations in the U.S.\n\n \n\nFor nearly the past 30 years\, Merrell has been associated with SFA sports.He started first doing sideline reporting at football games while Robert Hill handled the play-by-play duties.Later\, Merrell transitioned to being the public address announcer for SFA football and basketball games.\n\n \n\nDanny Merrell has been married for 26 years to Glenda (SFA '91).They have 3 children Chandler (25)\, Chase (21 and SFA senior)\, and Cullen (16).
