Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Art will open an exhibition of the work of John August Swanson with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday\, Nov. 9\, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House\, 329 E. Main St. in downtown Nacogdoches. The opening will also feature a presentation from 6 to 7 p.m. on Day of the Dead Traditions by Drs. Jos  N. Recinos and Gabriela Miranda-Recinos with SFA?s Latin American Studies Program. The exhibition opening will coincide with a Day of the Dead Fiesta and Fundraiser hosted by the SFA Friends of the Visual Arts from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. All SFA gallery exhibitions and opening receptions are free.
