DESCRIPTION:The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House will host a closing reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday\, June 1\, for the exhibition "Italian Photography Now: Thirteen Young Contemporaries".  The show\, presented by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art\, is on display in the upstairs Reception Gallery and features 35 works by 13 Italian artists attending the Free Academy of Fine Arts\, Florence\, Italy..\n\n \n\nThe Free Academy of Fine Arts of Florence is an operative branch of the first art academy of drawing in Europe\, founded in 1563.  The Gallery of the academy houses the original sculpture "David" by Michelangelo\, as well as many notable Renaissance works.\n\n \n\nThis exhibition marks the beginning of an art exchange between SFA School of Art and Libera Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze (Free Academy of Fine Arts of Florence). Coordinating the exchange is David Lewis\, Professor of art history at SFA.\n\n \n\nThe Cole Art Center is located at 329 E. Main St. in downtown Nacogdoches.  For information\, call (936) 468-1131.
