DESCRIPTION:Join committee to decide district's future plans\n\nNacogdoches ISD parents\, staff and the community can learn about the district's facility needs and how to be a part of a committee to determine subsequent steps to address them during a meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday\, May 28\, in the Nacogdoches High School commons.\n\n\n\nThree categories   safety\, capacity and efficiency    will be discussed.\n\n\n\n"This meeting is open to anyone who is interested in the future of Nacogdoches ISD\," said Nacogdoches ISD Superintendent Dr. Fred Hayes.  "We plan to show participants what we see\, and then invite them to be part of further exploring the matter."\n\n\n\nThose interested in serving on the facility committee will have the opportunity to sign up during the May 28 meeting. The group will divide into sub committees that tour campuses\, provide input into a survey to determine community wishes and\, as a whole\, will help decide what final recommendations are made to the board of trustees.\n\n\n\n"We want our community's thoughts and visions to be at the forefront of determining what happens in their school district\," Hayes said.  "Plans include six full committee meetings\, but we understand not everyone can make every meeting. We only ask that members be at as many as possible so their voice is heard in the process."\n\n\n\nThose who cannot make the May 28 meeting may contact Communications Coordinator Rayanne DuChane to have their name added to the committee list by emailing rduchane@nacisd.org or 936-569-5000\, ext. 8845.
