We hear the phrase, "Oldest town in Texas" quite a lot here in Nacogdoches, and now we get to truly celebrate our age. Domingo Ramon set off on his journey on April 22, 1716 and on July 9, 1716 came to Nacogdoches and established Mission Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe to serve the Caddo Indian tribe. This date marks the establishment of Nacogdoches as we know it today. This year, in celebration of Nacogdoches' Tricentenial anniversary, the Nacogdoches Tricentenial Committee invites everyone to witness the rededication of the Mission Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe. The rededication ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Festival Park with blessings and bells.
