This farcical dark comedy by Joseph Kesselring centers around the Brewster family and two charming and innocent spinster aunts (played by Jackie Vose and Missy Devine) who populate their cellar with the remains of socially and religiously "acceptable" roomers; the antics of their brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt and thinks the dead bodies are men who died from malaria while working on the Panama Canal; and the activities of the other brother, a murderer who received plastic surgery (Bill Small plays the crazy doctor) to hide his identity. Also included among the all star cast are Justin Hughes, David McClary Norton and Trae Norman. Kent Johnson plays Mortimer Brewster, the role made famous by Cary Grant in the motion picture directed by Frank Capra. The play opened on Broadway in 1941 and ran for 1,444 performances.
