This fun filled day will give visitors the opportunity to experience history in a hands-on way. Visitors can step back in time, to the mid-1800s, with pioneer crafts and activities such as flower pounding, herb planting, weaving on a loom and chinking a smokehouse. Some activities will be held outside and can be messy, so be sure to dress appropriately. Visitors will take home herbs ready to plant in their own backyard, a sample of their flower pounding and a weaving sample. Pioneer day will take place on Saturday, October 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Durst-Taylor Historic House and Gardens.
